Responsibilities
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician assistant in the Department of Critical Care will care for patients in a variety of ICU service lines including Cardiothoracic/Transplant ICU, Neuroscience ICU and Abdominal Transplant/Surgical ICU. The APPs rotate between all three of these service lines, the specific area the APP will be assigned to upon hiring will vary based on department needs and relevant experience.
- The Cardiothoracic ICU involves caring for patients requiring mechanical circulatory support including ECMO and Impella, pre and post heart and lung transplant and post cardiothoracic surgery.
- The Neuroscience ICU involves care for patients with ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, neurology patients requiring ICU care and post neurosurgical procedures.
- The abdominal transplant ICU involves care of patients pre and post liver and kidney transplant and any other surgical patient requiring ICU care post-operatively.
The critical care NP or PA will perform critical care procedures per hospital credentialing policy.

Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP or ACNP.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
Additional Qualifications:
- Active BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required
- Prefer 2 years of critical care experience as an NP/PA

12-hour rotating shifts, scheduled for 13 shifts one month and 14 shifts the following month. Position is a NOCTUNIST Position with the requirement of working 10-11 night shifts a month with 3 day shifts per month.
